Iowa State University Campus Life is searching for a student Motion Designer. This student will be part of our creative team, working with pre-established brand guidelines to create promotional and communication pieces, specifically for the Department of Residence and ISU Dining.

As a student motion designer, you will:

  • Gain working knowledge of video editing, using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Become a Adobe Creative Cloud power user by integrating Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro
  • Utilize eye-catching kinetic design to create motion graphic assets for various digital media platforms
  • Hone your communication skills by working within a collaborative environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience editing videos using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Must be creative with an eye for detail and the ability to work within provided guidelines
  • Ability to work independently with efficiency in order to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Camera skills for videography and photography is a plus, but not required
  • Creating content for social media is a plus, but not required

Preference is given to students who have been admitted into the graphic design program. Freshmen in pre-graphic design will be considered if they have a very strong portfolio and strong knowledge of design programs.

The position begins in January 2024, for a required 10 to 20 hours per week. We offer flexible scheduling; students determine the number of hours that work best with their class schedule. Employment may be ongoing into Summer 2024.
