House History
Named for Josephine Arnquist (1888-1948). When Arnquist came to Iowa State in 1920 to take charge of the girl’s club work there was no state club organization and the program was carried on in only a few counties. When she retired as state leader, there were over 15,000 girls taking part in the program. She helped conduct 4-H programs in no less than 10 states and also established girls’ clubs in France
