Assignment Changes

The following information is excerpted from the Policy Handbook for Residence Halls and On-Campus Apartments

CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT, AND ASSIGNMENT CHANGES – You are responsible for following all check-in, check-out and assignment change procedures.
  1. Check-In – Failure to follow check-in procedures will result in a $50 administrative charge.
  2. Check-Out – Failure to follow check-out procedures and/or failure to check-out by the assigned deadline will result in continued accrual of housing and dining fees, a $50 improper check-out charge, lock change charges and/ or cleaning and maintenance charges.
    1. Lock Change and Key Replacement Costs - All keys issued to you must be returned at the time of check-out. Failure to do so will result in charges for lock change and replacement keys.
  3. Assignment Changes
    1. Occupying more than one room/apartment, except while in the process of conducting an assignment change is prohibited.
    2. Under no circumstances will the DOR move one resident based on the request of another.
    3. For changes initiated during the semester, once a new assignment has been selected, the resident must wait until 12:00 noon the following day before they are able to obtain keys to the new space. This provides an adequate amount of time for new roommates to be notified (via email) of the pending change.
      1. Residents will have 72 hours to complete the change. Failure to complete an assignment change within 72 hours will result in release of the reservation.
    4. For changes initiated for a future semester, check-in / out information and deadlines will be communicated via email and/or AccessPlus, by the DOR. Failure to follow these instructions may result in release of the reservation and administrative charges.
    5. Within suites or apartments, bedroom changes must be initiated using A+. You must maintain possession of the keys to your assignment.
