If you are not returning to Iowa State for the spring semester — graduation, internships, study abroad or continuing your adventure somewhere else — there are a few items you’ll need to be aware of. You’ll need to cancel your contract. There are no cancellation fees if you are leaving due to academic reasons (graduation, internship, student teaching, study abroad, etc.).

You can cancel your on-campus housing contract by submitting a Contract Cancellation form, which is found in the Housing Portal.

If you live in Freddy or SUV, and want to cancel your contract, but will still be taking classes at ISU, you can avoid cancellation penalties by finding a non-contracted, eligible student to take over your contract.

If you are leaving ISU, you must be out of your space by noon on Saturday, Dec. 21 (graduating students have until 7 p.m.).

  • If you live in a residence hall, schedule a checkout time with your RA as soon as possible! If you can’t schedule with your RA, you can get an Express Checkout packet from your hall desk. You waive your right to appeal room charges if you opt for express check out.
  • If you live in Frederiksen Court or SUV, you will do an Express Checkout. Visit your community desk to get a packet and more details.
