We’re honored that life on campus is part of nearly every Iowa Stater’s story. These scholarships and awards help continue the tradition of campus life helping students succeed and graduate as Cyclones.

Allen Achievement Scholarship

This scholarship was initiated in 1995 after the death of Stanton House custodian, James Arthur Allen. His sister, Delilah Allen, bequeathed the money to the foundation in his honor, with the requirement that it be given only to a Stanton resident. As stated in her will, “This gift is being made because the residents of Stanton House were so good to my brother.”

Charles O. Campbell-Madge Young Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Charles O. Campbell, president of the ISU Men’s Residence Association from 1958-1959, and Madge Young, Hall Director for Roberts Hall from 1939-1943 and 1946-1947 and Resident Advisor in Friley from 1948-1953.

Charles F. Frederiksen Leadership Award

The award honors Charles (Chuck) Frederiksen, who began his association with the ISU Department of Residence when he moved into Friley as a freshman in 1949. For nearly 50 years, Chuck had a distinguished career in the college and university housing profession. He became the Director of Residence in 1967 and retired in 1996. This is one of six awards under the President’s Leadership Initiative Awards through the Division of Student Affairs
