We’re honored that life on campus is part of nearly every Iowa Stater’s story. These scholarships and awards help continue the tradition of campus life helping students succeed and graduate as Cyclones.

Charles F. Frederiksen Leadership Award

The award honors Charles (Chuck) Frederiksen, who began his association with the ISU Department of Residence when he moved into Friley as a freshman in 1949. For nearly 50 years, Chuck had a distinguished career in the college and university housing profession. He became the Director of Residence in 1967 and retired in 1996. This is one of six awards under the President’s Leadership Initiative Awards through the Division of Student Affairs.

Charles O. Campbell – Madge Young Scholarship

The Charles O. Campbell – Madge Young Scholarship was established in honor of two former student leaders in the Department of Residence at ISU. Charles O. Campbell was President of the Residence Association from 1958-1959 and member of the National Residence Hall Honorary. Madge Myers Young was a Hall Director in Roberts Hall from 1939-1943, 1946-1947 and Resident Advisor in Friley from 1948-1953.
