House History
Named for Harry Richey (1890-1947). Richey joined the staff of Iowa State as an instructor in horticulture in 1914. He left to pursue teaching opportunities on the East Coast before returning to Iowa State in 1921 as Professor of Horticulture. Although he gave most of his effort to teaching he did co-author two books in general horticulture.
