House History
Named for Alfred Bennett (1859-1922). Bennett came to Iowa State from Chicago University in 1885 and served as Head of Chemistry from 1885 to 1913. He was a member of the first “committee on post-graduate studies” in 1899. He wrote one of the first textbooks on general chemistry. He was honored at the convocation that marked the establishment of the “Twenty-five Year Club.”
