House History

Named for Madge McGlade (1879-1964). McGlade came to Iowa State College as a hall director in 1924, serving as assistant dean of women, director of housing and director of residence at various periods from 1925 until 1946 – all while earning her M.S. from Iowa State. She retired as a director of residence in 1946 but remained on the staff until 1958.
