Students who live on campus are more likely to stay at and graduate faster from Iowa State. While they’re here, they’re less stressed about things like time management and taking care of themselves. On top of that, they’re making more social connections (aka: having more fun)!
For over 150 years, students have been immersed in the Cyclone experience by living on campus and our goal has always been to help them be welcomed, connected and successful in their journey.
Maintaining Experience by making changes
Key factors in student success are ensuring we’re operating in ways that serve students well and are fiscally responsible. Changes in occupancy, enrollment, the Ames rental market and the implications of COVID-19 mean we’re looking at operating differently for the 2021-22 academic year. These changes are outlined below.
You’ll find things like adding more pet-friendly apartment options, lowering non-air room rates, rate leveling, and adjusting space use to have more co-ed buildings – these are all ideas that have come up while talking with students. We are also considering space closures for next year to maintain a healthy financial picture.
