Best Room on Campus Contest
- Entries accepted through 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 1, 2024
- Public voting will begin on Feb. 8, 2024 to choose winners in each neighborhood. Neighborhood winners will be announced on Feb. 19. Grand Prize voting will begin Feb. 19 and winner will be announced by spring break.
- Winning rooms agree to be professionally photographed. Prizes are awarded once room is photographed.
- Only one entry per room will be accepted.
- If your space wins, each person who occupies the bedroom space will win the prize (Ex: If your room wins third place, each occupant of the room gets their own gift card.)
- All photos become the property of Iowa State University’s Department of Residence and have the potential to be used in marketing materials.
- People must not be in the photos
- Entries must be appropriate and follow ISU policies. If they do not, you will be disqualified.
- Submissions must belong to Iowa State University students currently living in Department of Residence facilities
- In residence hall rooms or apartment rooms/spaces featured that are shared with a roommate; in the instance the room wins, both roommates are eligible to win a prize.
- Winning entries agree to allowing the Department of Residence take additional photos of the room for marketing and communications purposes.

- Pay attention to the small details – neatly stacked books, staged spaces, arranged pillows, centered rugs, things on the wall centered, etc.
- Pay attention to lighting – dark photos and spaces won’t photograph as well

- Best of Apartments (Frederiksen Court, University Village, Schilletter Village)
- Grand prize winner (to be voted on from the four “Best Of” categories)
