The DOR attempts to offer residents storage options that are convenient and that meet the safety standards and operational needs of the department.

RESIDENCE HALLS

  • Residence Hall Storage Policy and Agreement – Academic Year

Residents may be able to store some of their belongings and/or room furniture during the academic year. The location of storage will vary from house to house and from year to year and will be dependent upon building configuration, academic year utilization, or planned maintenance and/or renovation activities. Allowable storage items include university owned bed frames, bed legs, and desk chairs, as well as student owned empty suitcases and empty trunks. All other university and personal items must be stored in the residents’ own rooms. After the fourth week of classes, houses may approve to accommodate additional storage items. Any such accommodation must be approved by the Hall Director and satisfy University Safety Standards.

APARTMENTS

Student storage is not available in Frederiksen Court or University Village. Schilletter Village residents have access to a basement storage area. Schilletter Village residents should contact the SUV Community office at apartments@iastate.edu for storage information and guidelines.
