VANCE, Thomas ~Franklin (1885-1960) was a 1909 graduate of Coe College and received two degrees from the State University of Iowa (M.A. 1911, PhD. 1913). He joined the Iowa State staff in 1914, was placed in charge of child psychology in 1920 and in 1927, was appointed professor in the child development department. He was a member of many honorary and professional societies and wrote for professional journals on subjects ranging from food preferences of children to quarrels.
