Buchanan, Wallace & Wilson Halls
Students looking for a more independent living environment, but who still want the convenience of residence hall living, can find exactly what they need in Buchanan, Wallace or Wilson halls.
Buchanan and Wallace halls are available to all new freshmen and transfers 19 or older and all continuing students. Buchanan Hall also houses the EILC Learning Community and has two floors dedicated to graduate students or students 21 or older.
Buchanan Hall
A suite-style building consisting of a four-story west wing and a nine-story east wing, Buchanan is
located on the south side of campus near the Iowa State Center, the Memorial Union and Campustown.
Meal plans are required for Buchanan residents
Wallace Hall and Wilson Hall
Wallace and Wilson are twin, 10-story traditional, residence hall buildings with a twist -
all rooms are super-singles! Wallace and Wilson are located south of Buchanan
and conveniently near the ISU cross country course, cricket field, intramural fields, inline hockey
arena, the Ames/ISU Ice Arena and the ISU Southwest Athletic Complex.
In Wallace and Wilson halls, meal plans are encouraged, but not required.
