Places to Live

Almost 10,000 ISU students choose to make on-campus housing their "Cyclone" home. Why should you live on campus?

Eligibility for Housing

To live in on-campus housing, you must be in good financial standing with ISU and must meet one of the following criteria:

Newly admitted freshmen who are 18 years old or younger may only live in any residence hall in the Richardson Court, Union Drive or Towers neighborhoods. Age is determined as of September 1 for contracts that begin fall and February 1 for contracts that begin spring.

All other single students are eligible to live in any residence hall (except Wilson) where there is space after freshmen assignments, plus Buchanan hall, Frederiksen Court and University Village.

Family housing is available in Schilletter Village.

Places to Eat

On-campus food service is provided by the ISU Dining department. For information about on-campus dining services, please visit the ISU Dining web site.

Meal Plan Requirements

Residents of Buchanan Hall, Richardson Court and Union Drive are required to purchase a Semester Meal Plan. There are no exceptions to this requirement.

Residents of Wallace and Wilson halls, Frederiksen Court, University Village and Schilletter Village are not required to purchase a meal plan. However many residents in these areas opt to purchase some combination of meals and Dining Dollar$ so they can make purchases in one of the many Dining Centers, Cafes, Restaurants and C-Stores.
