The Department of Residence offers accommodations and services to meet the needs of Iowa State University sponsored guests and their families. Guest apartments are located in Schilletter and University Village on the north end of the ISU campus.

We have comfortable two-bedroom apartments to make you feel at home during your stay.
Each apartment has a kitchen, living room, eating area, bathroom, and two bedrooms. One bedroom features a queen bed and the other has either a set of bunk beds or one twin bed. The bathroom features a tub-shower combination and all bed linens, pillows, towels, and washcloths are provided.
Units are also equipped with a dining table and four chairs, cable television, high-speed internet access, iron and ironing board, and a vacuum cleaner. Our kitchens are fully-equipped with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The cupboards are stocked with dishes, utensils, pans, baking dishes, a toaster, coffeemaker, and hand mixer for your convenience.
Although you can prepare meals in your apartment, you can also take advantage of all that ISU Dining has to offer. Meal plans are available to guests and several ISU Dining establishments across campus are open during the academic year as well as throughout the summer.
Check out the ISU Dining venues on campus and our convenient meal plans at www.dining.iastate.edu.
The Community Not only do you get a comfortable apartment, you’ll be a part of the Schilletter and University Village community. We have resident managers living throughout the community to welcome our guests and help answer any questions you might have about ISU or the City of Ames.
Construction on our new community center and playground equipment was completed in April 2006. The community center houses study areas, a computer lab, large conference room, common area, and kitchen. It’s a great place for our SUV guests and permanent residents to host events, gather with friends, and attend social functions. The community center also houses our friendly SUV office staff and is a place where you can go if you have any questions.
A soccer field, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, and bike paths are also available to our guests in the SUV community.

SUV is located on the north end of Iowa State University’s campus, and most major campus buildings are a short walk, bike, or bus ride away. The CYRide bus route makes regular stops in the SUV community and travels throughout the ISU campus and City of Ames. Parking is provided free for guests staying one month or less, and there is a prorated parking fee for longer stays.
To be a part of our guest housing community, you must have a recognized affiliation with Iowa State University. If you’re an ISU employee, visiting scholar, scientist, researcher, or the spouse or domestic partner of a student, faculty or staff member, we’d love to have you as our guest in SUV.
You are also eligible to stay in SUV guest housing if you are part of an organization that has set up a contract with the ISUCard Office allowing their employees to have an ISUCard. Organizations such as the ISU Foundation, ISU Research Park, USDA, Sauer-Danfoss, and the Iowa State Center have a contact person within their respective facilities to submit the information of their employees to our guest housing office.
