Basic Move-Out Tips

Tell us what you're doing. Don't assume we know or will find out you're leaving because you told someone else (roommate, advisor, professor, Financial Aid, Registrar, etc.).

Leave your space in good condition. You will be charged for any damages and cleaning not done. Charges will be shared by all roommates in multiple occupancy units.

Turn in your keys. Don't take them home with you. Don't give them to a roommate / friend to turn in. Don't leave them in your empty room. Until you turn them in, you will continue to accrue charges.

Talk to your roommate(s). Let them know when you will be leaving and determine ahead of time who is responsible for cleaning, etc.

Take all of your stuff with you. Take one last look in all your desk and dresser drawers, in your closet and under your bed. Any items you leave behind will be removed and disposed of at your expense.

Take your bike with you. Whether you are changing assignments or moving off-campus, please don't leave your bike in the racks outside your old building. Please don't leave your bike on-campus when you go home for the summer. Bikes left behind will be considered abandoned and will be sent to Assest Recovery to be sold/destroyed.
