Moving Out at the End of the Fall 2011 Semester

All residence halls (except Buchanan, Linden, Wallace and Wilson) close for Winter Break. Residents must vacate as follows:

Beginning Sunday, December 18, check out from a closed residence hall will result in a $20 per hour charge. Access and/or check out will be regulated by the availability of staff. Contact the CA on duty for assistance.

Canceling the Spring Portion of Your 2011-12 Contract

If you will not live on-campus for the spring 2012 semester, you must:

Failure to follow the instructions indicated below will result in continued accrural of room and board and and improper check-out charges.

What You Need to Do / Know…

GRADUATE

  • Complete a proper check-out by or before 6:00 pm on Dec. 17.
  • You WON’T BE charged the 80% penalty.
    • If you do not graduate, you must return to housing or be charged the 80% penalty.
  • Your $125 prepayment (if paid) will be refunded.
LEAVE ISU (dismissal,
withdrawal or transfer)
  • Complete a proper check-out by or before 3:00 pm on Dec. 17.
  • You WON’T BE charged the 80% penalty.
    • If you enroll at ISU for spring 2012, you must return to housing or be charged the 80% penalty.
  • Your $125 prepayment (if paid) will be refunded.
  • Note: If you might be academically dismissed at the end of fall, consider checking out on Dec.  17. Otherwise, you will be charged for spring housing and dining through the day you check-out.

Move to GREEK HOUSING

  • Complete a proper check-out by or before 3:00 pm on Dec. 17.
  • Your penalty depends upon the status of the chapter you are joining.
    • Contact Greek Affairs to determine your penalty.
  • Your $125 prepayment (if paid) will be forfeited.

Move OFF-CAMPUS

  • Cancel your contract on A+
  • Complete a proper check-out by or before 3:00 pm on Dec. 17.
  • You WILL be charged the 80% penalty.
  • Your $125 prepayment (if paid) will be forfeited.
STUDENT TEACH, INTERN,
STUDY ABROAD or CO-OP
  • Complete a Waiver Form and submit it to 2419 Friley Hall.
  • Complete a proper check-out by or before 3:00 pm on Dec. 17.
  • You WON’T BE charged the 80% penalty.
    • If you enroll at ISU for spring 2012, you must return to housing or be charged the 80% penalty.
  • Your $125 prepayment (if paid) will be refunded.
